Effective date: 22 September 2026
Last updated: 22 September 2026
Applies to: Schedia for iOS 1.0.0 and later
Summary (not part of the terms)
- Schedia has no account system, and the developer runs no server that holds your data.
- Your timetable, grades, degree progress, places and card photos stay on your device.
- If you turn on iCloud sync, your data is stored in your own private iCloud database, which the developer cannot read.
- Card photos never sync and are not uploaded by Schedia. You can choose to save or share a photo yourself.
- Schedia never uploads your material to an AI service. AI-assisted import prepares a file and a set of instructions; you send them yourself, to a service you choose.
- Schedia makes one kind of outbound request of its own: fetching a calendar feed from the URL you enter.
- No advertising, no profiling, no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs.
- Deleting the app removes all local data. The app also offers selective and complete deletion.
The full terms follow.
1. Who we are
Schedia is a timetable and degree-progress app for university students, developed and maintained by independent developer 漩涡.
- Contact: mcwhirl@qq.com
- Support: Schedia Support
This policy explains what Schedia handles, where it is stored, and what leaves your device.
2. What Schedia handles
Almost everything in Schedia is entered or imported by you and stored locally on your device.
2.1 Information you provide
| Category | Contents | Stored | Leaves the device |
|---|---|---|---|
| Timetable | Course names, teachers, rooms, times, teaching weeks, notes | On device | Only to your private iCloud, and only if you turn sync on |
| Grades and degree progress | Grades, credits, GPA, degree requirements | On device | Same |
| Profile | Name, institution, department, program, year, program length | On device | Same |
| Campus places | Place names, categories and coordinates you add | On device | Same |
| Exams and time off | Exam entries, time-off periods | On device | Same |
| Card photos | Photos you take or choose in My cards | On device only, file-protected | No. Never synced, never uploaded |
2.2 Permissions
Schedia asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it. Every permission can be declined; only that feature stops working.
| Permission | Why | Where the data goes |
|---|---|---|
| Location (while using) | Distance to a campus place; showing you on the map | Computed on device, not transmitted |
| Location (always) | Reminds you when class has started and you have not arrived at a linked place | Computed on device, not transmitted |
| Calendars | Writes your classes and exams into a calendar of its own named "Schedia" | Stays in your calendar database; Schedia reads and writes only that one calendar |
| Camera | Taking a photo for My cards | Device only |
| Photos (add) | Saving a schedule image or card photo to your library | Written to your library by the system |
| Notifications | Class, exam and location reminders | Composed on device; no server involved |
| Face ID / Touch ID | Unlocking the Me tab when privacy lock is on | Handled by the system; Schedia only learns success or failure |
About location: Schedia does not record a location history. A location is used for one distance check and then discarded.
2.3 What Schedia does not collect
No advertising identifiers, contacts, microphone, health data, browsing history, or behaviour in other apps. No data is collected for profiling.
Schedia contains no third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or attribution SDKs.
3. Importing your timetable
Schedia has no student-portal login and never asks for your school account.
3.1 Calendar file or subscription
- If you pick a
.icsfile, it is read on your device. - If you enter a subscription link (
webcal://orhttps://), Schedia requests that URL and no other. The request goes to the server you named — usually your institution or its timetabling system — and is subject to that provider's own policies. - Plain
http://links are refused, so a feed is never fetched unencrypted. - The link is stored on your device so you can refresh it. There is no background refresh: a feed is fetched only when you ask.
3.2 AI-assisted import
- Schedia does not send anything to an AI service and has no AI service of its own.
- It prepares material (for a saved web page, it strips scripts, form fields, tokens and obvious identifiers first) and gives you a file plus a set of instructions.
- You send those to an assistant you choose, and you paste the reply back. What that service does with your material is governed by its privacy terms, not this policy.
- Review what you are about to send. Schedia offers to show you the prepared file before you share it.
4. Diagnostic reports
When an import runs, Schedia records what happened so a failure can be investigated.
- A report contains the app version, iOS version, device model, your institution name, study level, current week, and your period times — plus the material for that import (the calendar text, or the instructions and the AI reply).
- Reports are redacted as they are written: names, ID numbers, e-mail addresses, tokens and scripts are hidden or removed.
- A report is kept on your device only and is deleted after seven days. You can delete individual reports or clear them all at any time.
- A report leaves your device only when you export it and send it.
- Recording can be turned off in Me → Diagnostics.
5. iCloud sync
iCloud sync is off until you turn it on.
- Your data is stored in your own private CloudKit database under your Apple Account, encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.
- The developer has no access to it.
- Sync happens only between your own devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
- Never synced: card photos, the privacy-lock setting, notification preferences and appearance settings — anything that only describes the state of one device.
- Turning sync off stops further uploads. Data already in iCloud can be managed or deleted in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud.
Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
6. Apple Watch and widgets
- Watch data is transferred directly between your own two devices with Apple's WatchConnectivity. No server is involved.
- Widgets and Lock Screen activities read local data through an App Group; no network is involved.
- Neither the Watch app nor the widgets contain card photos.
7. Third-party services
Schedia uses these Apple services. None of them involve a developer-operated server.
| Service | Why | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Maps (MapKit) | Showing the map, searching campus places | Search terms are sent to Apple by the system; Apple's privacy policy applies |
| CloudKit | iCloud sync, if you turn it on | Data is in your private database |
| Notifications, location, Face ID | See 2.2 | Handled by iOS |
The only non-Apple network request Schedia makes is the calendar feed described in 3.1, to the address you entered.
8. Retention and deletion
- Data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the app.
- In-app deletion: Settings → Data → Clear selected data (by category) and Clear all data (back to a fresh install).
- Deleting the app removes all local data.
- Data already synced to iCloud is removed in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
- Diagnostic reports expire on their own after seven days.
9. Children
Schedia is intended for students in higher education. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country, where that is higher), and it does not knowingly collect information from them.
10. Security
- Card photos are stored inside the app's sandbox with the system's file protection; other apps cannot read them.
- With privacy lock on, the Me tab requires Face ID or Touch ID and is masked in the app switcher.
- Because your data lives on your device, the security of the device itself — a passcode, current system updates, not jailbreaking — is the foundation of its security.
11. Your rights
Because Schedia does not automatically collect your app data on a developer server, you retain direct control:
- Access — everything is visible in the app.
- Correction — every field is editable.
- Deletion — see section 8.
- Portability — a schedule can be exported as a schedule code, an image, or into your system calendar; diagnostic reports export as text files.
- Withdrawing permission — any permission can be revoked in iOS Settings at any time.
If you are in a jurisdiction that grants additional rights over personal data (for example the EU/EEA or UK GDPR, or comparable state laws), those rights apply to the limited processing described here. Since the developer does not hold your in-app records, most requests are satisfied directly in the app; for anything else, contact mcwhirl@qq.com.
12. Changes
Material changes will be announced in the app's release notes or on the About page, and take effect when published. Please check this page from time to time.
13. Contact
mcwhirl@qq.com
14. Support correspondence
If you choose to contact the developer, your email address, message and any attached diagnostic report are received to respond to and investigate your request. Do not send passwords, access tokens or unredacted identity documents. Contact mcwhirl@qq.com to request deletion of support correspondence. This voluntary correspondence is separate from automatic collection of app data.
15. This website
This website does not use advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. Hosting infrastructure processes IP addresses, requested paths and technical connection information to deliver pages and maintain security. Website requests are not linked to your in-app timetable or academic data. Browser language is used only to offer a dismissible edition suggestion; policy URLs do not redirect automatically.
